Mac OS X Leopard stopped receiving updates months ago. 10.6.6 is a paid upgrade that you can buy from the Apple Online Store > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make sure your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575

Make a backup of your data with Time Machine, insert the DVD and upgrade. After upgrading, you will have Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open  > Software Update, and install all available updates. You will be using Mac OS X 10.6.8. From there, you can upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion if you want and if your MacBook Pro is compatible > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
