Make and model number of the (new?) modem? We do not need the serial number.
What was the very first device that was connected to the modem? Your computer or the AirPort Express?
Did you have another cable modem before you installed the new modem?

Aug 22, 2013 2:34 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby storkdoc,I too just got time warner. I now have a motorola surfboard sb 6141 attached to my airport extreme. I have had problems with the AE when I was on DSL. I had to unplug it on average every 2 days to reset it as I would loose my WIFI connection. I've updated it to the most recent firmware and I reset it to factory condition when I joined Time warner today.
The modem and router are in the kichen and if I'm on my laptop there the connection is almost alway great. But occasionally it becomes bad. In my office on the iMac the eventhough the signal strength is excellent the speed is either great or exceedingly slow. If I unplug the router and plug it back it, it becomes speedy again in the office. So I guess I need a new router, but this one is only a year old. Any suggestions?
