How can I restore my computer to 'factory settings'
I have a OSX Snow Leapord disc but when I instert it it says it can't install it. Could restore my computer with going into osx recovery and using this disc?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

OS X Recovery is designated for Macs running v10.7 or v10.8 only
Your proflie indicates you have 10.5.8 installed but you are trying to restore using v10.6?
That won't work.

I do not have the discs that originally came with it
Then you won't be able to restore v10.5 with the Snow Leopard disc.
You can contact Apple 800-767-2775 to replace your install disc. They will charge shipping and handling.
You will need the serial number for your Mac to do so.
How to find the serial number of your Apple hardware product
But could I at least restore back to snow leapord and redownload the latest software again from the app store? Thanks for the help
Afraid not. You can't restore a Mac to factory settings using a disc not designated for that OS X.
But as I mentioned previously, you can call Apple for a replacement install disc.
SO anything I could do?
Read my previous post. Call Apple.
Okay, thank you for your help
You're welcome 🙂
