Why has Netflix started buffering on Apple TV?

Netflix has started buffering over the past few weeks when watching Netflix. When I put in my serial number on the Support Website I get the message:

"We're sorry, but that product is not eligible for support. In general, products that were manufactured more than five years ago are not supported by this program."

I only purchased the Apple TV in Dec 2013 and it was released in March 2012.

It appears that it has happened since the last update and there are a large number of people who are affected (I have seen similar issues on other forums).

P.S. My broadband speed is fine and my Apple TV is up to date.

1. Why have Apple not made a statement and repaired the issue by now?

2. Why is their Product Support so bad?

This is a user forum, you will not get a statement by Apple here.

After an update there will always be reports of issues but it's typically not the update. When you say your network is fine have you checked actual speed, interference? Are you using your ISPs DNS?

As far as the support, that doesn't sound right. If you bought it this past December then it should still be under warranty. You could always take the unit in to have it checked.

Thanks, I have checked my broadband speed (as stated) using Internet speed checkers and it is actually faster than the previous times when I have checked (when the Apple TV was working fine). Netflix also works fine in my sons room on his ROKU2, so I know it is not an internal broadband issue, and before you say it it, I have been trying to use my Apple TV when there are no other devices in the house using my WIFI signal.

When I say bad support, I mean trying to contact Apple with my problem. As far as I can see there is no facility to e-mail them with my problem, there is an online system which allows you to put in your device serial number and they will call you back, and it is this online system which tells me my system is not supported, and therefore will not allow me to enter a contact number.

If there is a way to contact them it would be great if somebody could enlighten me. I do not have an Apple shop nearby to take it in, and anyway like I said there are a number of other Apple TV users with the same issue (I have read on this and other forums) since the last update, so I think the problem lays there.
