what do i do when i restart my ipod plug it into the latop on itunes then it says dont disconnect so i leave it then it says dissconnect but then still has the ipod with a sad face dont know what to do can you help?

right so i did that disk mode thing on my ipod waited unit it said plug into a computer to reset my ipod so i do then it say dont disconnect so i leave it wait till it say remove usb so i do then it just comes back up with the same ipod with a sad face need help.

Resolution


In most cases, the sad iPod icon indicates a hardware issue. If you are able to force iPod into Disk Mode, then it may not be a hardware issue, and you should try to restore your iPod with the latest software.


If you cannot force your iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod is in need of service. Set up an iPod Service Request or make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Retail Store. To make a reservation:


1. Go to http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/.

2. Choose an Apple Store location.

3. Click the Reserve link under Genius Bar.

4. Choose iPod.

5. Select your desired reservation date and time.
