Neither of these links are correct. I don't want to reset my apple id password nor is my phone passcode locked. I want to reset the password for my iCloud account on my phone. Even if I could change the account out and create a new one, that would be fine but I cant do that either because it auto loads as soon as I restore it.

An iCloud account is an Apple ID.

Though you may not use it in the store every iCloud account is also an Apple ID. The @icloud.com or @me.com or @mac.com are generally Aliases for your Apple ID.

HOWEVER even if you have a separate account for iTunes/Messages/Facetime and iCloud account, they are still both Apple IDs and the link iForgot.apple.com is the proper place to reset your password.

If you are unsuccessful trying both the email authentication as well as the answer security questions choices at http://iforgot.apple.com, then you need to call 1-800-APL-CARE (US and Canada) for assistance or find the Apple Tech Support Phone number (AppleCare) for your country. They will attempt to verify your identity over the phone.

Please see this article for more information on iCloud accounts and Apple ID's - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4895

And here is the official Apple link that describes these steps to reset your iCloud account's password - you can use either appleid.apple.com or iForgot.apple.com (which is more direct) to do this - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617
