does time machine backup private browsing sessions
Does time machine backup private browsing session in Safari (6.0.5) and if so, how do I prevent that?

Not sure exactly what to exclude. There is so much there! Can I exclude whole folders (which ones?) that exclude email and safari — maybe applications, maybe library, maybe user infromation, maybe system, maybe user, anything but my work (just MS Office stuff, iTunes, and pictures) — or do I need to be very selective?
Thanks!
Excluding most things is not a good idea. See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #11.
I suspect the history of private sessions is never written to disk, so can't be backed-up, but if that's all you're worried about exclude your browser history.
If you use Safari, exclude:
~/Library/Safari/History.plist
TM backs up your browser History, so if it's not in History, it's not backed up.
How about email? Does TM back up email?
Yes.
If you go to Soptlight in System Preferences you can choose to exclude items.
That won't keep them from getting backed-up.
?
Excluding things from being indexed by Spotlight doesn't exclude them from being backed-up by Time Machine. Two separate things.
Agrh! I meant "Time Machine" in System Preferences.
That's kinda what I thought . . .
