I've signed up for Photoshop CC (PS6) and now find my it needs at least 512MB of vRAM, and my early 2009 iMac has a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB card. Can I upgrade this, and is it a DIY project or does it need to go in to the Apple Store?

Thanks, Kappy. I cna live without the 3D since everything else seems to be working although ratherly slowly. I have 4GB of RAM, would there be be much benefit doubling that to the maximum 8MB?

Yes, it may help. I believe you may get more shared memory for the GPU when you max out the memory. But I'm not positive about that.
