Q: I want to get some software from the Apps Store
I have a 27"iMac networked to a 21"iMac. The first is on Snow Leopard and the other is on Lion. On the 27" I have Pages and Numbers as part of iWorks. I would like to put these two Apps on to the 21" from the 27", Am I allowed to migrate the said Apps from one to the other - or - do I buy them again? And - if I do how do I stop the bought App loading to my 27" when I want it for the 21"? Seems to me I'll end up with pile of bought Apps on the 27" instead of some on the 21"
And - the 21" is a not very old Mac but, a resale from someone or other. I don't know the password. I enter that used for the 27" but it keeps asking for the password. But how am I supposed know that - or change it - or get a new one. I have gone through the various steps for "hours" today - now locked out. So what to do?

No migration necessary. You can re download apps from the App Store on each computer.

FYI ... The minimum requirements for Pages from the App Store is v10.7.4 or later.
Same for Numbers. So those two applications will not run Snow Leopard.
To view this information, open the App Store. Then from the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Then locate the Pages or Numbers app. You will see Requirements under Information right side of the window.
As for the admin password. When buying a used Mac, it's rule of thumb to obtain the install discs. Without that, you can't change the admin password.
