Avast turned on VPN. Now I can't turn it off.

I uninstalled Avast, but when I try to turn off VPN it automatically restarts itself. It really runs the battery down. How can I clean this up?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), Just downloaded latest iTUnes

Actually I had to go to Settings->General->VPN and delete the Avast profile.

IMHO this is a bug in avast. It should uninstall cleanly by deleting the app. It's also a bug in Apple's SW. Deleting an app, should make the app clean itself up.

I haven't had any viruses on the iPhone, but Avast itself has come the closest to being one.
