So how do I activate iCloud Backup if the "activate" slider is disabled?

Yes. asked this question now for a few times and think must ask it over and over until someon from Apple reads this and tries to fix the problem.
Is this allways the way Apple gives support?
I wonder how apple could get that rich when everything works "so fine".
Is is allways that horrible for people who are "experts" with other computers, working with computers for over 30 years and thinking in "bits and bytes" and semiconductors.

And why are apple products "olute so easy" for people who are absolut noobs with computers, video recorders and technology at all?
I think I am gonna to give this iPad thingy back and get a windows or android tablet.

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.3

That sounds like a wise decision.

Just to be clear, this is not Apple. This is a user forum. We are users just like yourself.

Is there a message under the greyed out button?

Have you tried deleting the account from the iPad and re-adding it?

Check your restrictions:

Settings > General > Restrictions

Is there a profile on the device:

Settings > General > Profiles

Yeah, Apple support did answer. But they only linked me to their "Troubleshooting creating an iCloud Backup" site, that tells nothing about real problems.

Well the point with the PROFILES was a very good point. 😉
I thought about that previously but never analyzed it.

As I use the iPad private and for business there is a profile from my company whish has restrictions: "No icloud backup", even I have turned restrictions on. The profile gets active, as soon as I connect to my companies WLAN.

This is to hold up- and downstream bandwiths low.

So have to find out how I can create a "home" profile and activate that when I am outside.

Thanx 😍

But: Where on ****, or in which Apple-documentation I would have found that?

If the profile only applies to when you are on the company's network then it should function properly when you are not on the company's network. My suspicion is that this is a compny issued device and the device is locked down. It is common practice for companies to disable iCloud backup to secure company information. Therefore if this device is already being supervised by the company you will not be able to create and install a "home" profile. You will need to talk to your IT department to find out exactly how it is configured.

Apple does talk about Apple Configurator and Profiles in their Business & Education section. This is typically a way for companies & institutions to lock down iOS devices to comply with company/institution policies and not something used by the average Apple consumer. That is why you didn't find any mention of it in the basic help articles.
