Delete button not working.

I just got my macbook today and I noticed that mac has a delete button instead of a backspace button like windows. Well, as I was typing and needed to delete my text, I pressed delete and nothing happpened. I then looked it up and saw that you have to use fn+delete to "backspace." I tried that and then still nothing happened. Any idea on what's going on with my delete button?

No, delete by itself should definitely work as a delete key, provided you want to delete backwards.

FN + delete works as a "forward delete" - in other words, you can use that if your prompt is at the start of a bit of text you want to remove. If the prompt is at the end of the text, nothing will happen.

If the delete key is not working like that in ANY application (Word, Pages, Textedit, etc), it's possibly a problem with that key - I would call Applecare or visit an Apple Store.
