Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

My ipod touch (4th gen.) screen works but glitches and then functions are disabled, meaning I cannot type, or even open any apps.

So I'll unlock my ipod and the screen will be fine for a few minutes, but then the screen itself somewhat glitches, disabling my ability to open apps or to let alone type. Wherever I press my finger on the screen, all buttons/functions excenpt for the one I pressed on will all "work". It's hard to explain, but sometmes the ipod itself will open up new windows without my command, or start typing without my command. The screen still looks the same, and Ive removed the screen protective cover, yet the problem still occurs. Help?

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 6, Barely 9 months old (the device)

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
