How to access settings on airport extreme?

How do i access the settings similar to a cisco router through the default ip address?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

I assume that you have already followed the steps in the Setup Guide to get the AirPort up and running.


Not sure what you mean by "optimize". The AirPort Extreme is already set for maximum broadcast power, fastest performance, etc.


Unless you have specific need to change an existing setting, you can leave the AirPort in its default setttings.


Once the AirPort is intially set up, If you need to access the settings, you already have the info to do that above.


Hold down the option key while you double click on the AirPort Extreme icon to get into the settings.


When you do that, your screen will look like this:

You also have a 40+ page manual built into the Help file. Click Help at the top of the screen, then click AirPort Utility Help.
