"failed to respond"

Question

"failed to respond"

I am trying very hard to get my mac and my friends pc to talk. I am using an aim account and every time i try to chat with my friend i get the "failed to respond" error, how do i fix this? THX

Also read the FAQ in the announment above thge thread list.

Thread 121845 is an older version.
FAQ writers can not edit them in these Discussions as they could before. We have to submit them again. In some cases we have asked for them to replace the old ones but this has not always happened.

Hi, I am having the same problem as the first poster (starter of the thread) and I hate to say it but those FAQ pages that you linked to haven't helped me out 😟 Any other ideas?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions

If they have XP, AIM 5.9, have done the " Tuning" and enabled the AIM app through the XP firewall it may pay to check those things again.

This site may help as well.
