I have my iMovie '11 event files on an external HD that became full. So I added a 2nd external HD & moved some movie events to it. I also converted some new GoPro video to the 2nd external HD. iMove sees the new drive but DOES NOT "see" the files. I've restarted my computer with no success. What do I do?

Can be many thing - but the most common one is
External Hard Disks, USB-Memories - all must be
Mac OS Extrnded (hfs) formatted to work with Video
it goes for FinalCut too - it is a MUST
UNIX / DOS / FAT32 / Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things but not for VIDEO

In addition to Bengt's excellent advice about formatting, iMovie will not see Events on an external drive unless they are in a folder called "iMovie Events" at the top level of the drive. For best results, use iMovie to do the move, as described in this post.
iMovie sees a new external HD, but not the files!
