Q: I -tunes lost after new software downloaded

I downloaded new  I- tune software  today and  now I cant play any music at all.  It keeps saying original file  could not be found  would you like to locate.

I click on locate and what looks like an apps page comes up and I still cant play.

So what has happened. is it corrupt,do I have to  remove all my music and start again.

Thank goddness I didnt install it on my lap top
