My iphone5 recognizes my ID but when I try to sign in to access the app store it doesnt. I realized why I cant....When trying to access the app store, the email ID that shows up is my alternate email address. How is it possible that i have 2 ID's? How do I reset my primary email address as my Apple ID? Please help!

No...I only created one when i bought the phone but for some reason, now i have two. I tried resetting the pw for the second one but when i try to log in, it says it is invalid. I'm SO confused!

Yes, you can have 2 or more Apple IDs, and have content associated with each one on your iPhone. Does the 2nd one look like something that you might have created? Did you ever get music or apps from someone else, and could it be their Apple ID?
