I did a search for this issue and got a few results but unfortunately none of the threads seem to have a solution. Just started today, that when I plug my earbuds into the audio port, there is a loud buzzing sound from the left earbud, even pressing mute wont stop it. I tried restarting the machine but it still persists, hoping somebody here has had the same issue and can help.

Test a different set of phones, if they work dispose of the problem ones.
I tried a different set of headphones but unfortunately the issue remains.
Sounds to me like something is causing interference with the headphones. Is your phone near the cable for your earbuds? May just be something environmental.
Thanks for the replies, I'll try and eliminate environmental issues, if that doesn't help I'll just have to ring customer care about it.

I have the same problem too...
I pluged my iphone into the audio port and after that EVERY EARPHONES' right bud is buzzing.
I do not know what to do to fix this problem.
But I am sure that this is not because of the audio jack. I've changed it, but earphones still buzzing.
