Will apple mac book support an Xga projector?
I am using a Sony LCD projector and it needs XGA OUTPUT mode from my MacBook. Can the MacBook provide XGA output for the projector?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Pages 09

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The short answer is 'Yes'.
The much longer answer...
"XGA" is defined as 1024x768 resolution (1024 horizontal x 768 vertical pixel counts) and IS one of the many display resolutions available.
You can easily check the various output resolutions available on your MacBook:
(I'm on OS X 10.6.8, so your options and display will probably look different)
, System Preferences, Hardware, Displays, Display
Also notice the 'Detect displays' button. Once you're connected to the projector, this button will LIKELY select the proper output resolution. If you checkmark the 'Show displays in the menu bar', a small icon in the top menu bar will allow you to quickly set the resolution you need.
And you'll likely need to purchase the correct video adapter to connect from your MacBook to the projector.
For older MacBooks, it's the mini-DVI

or the mini-Displayport for newer MacBooks
