best way to backup?
There are so many pieces of one Project - the Event, The Project, the camera render... What's the best way to back up and store a project?
Final Cut Pro X, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), 14 GB memory

Duplicate a project and it's referenced events.
Tom,
What if you have numerous projects accessing the same event? I might have 5 projects that are really just different edits, using the same footage from a single event. How would I reliably copy the 5 projects and the event they referrence to a different location, without haveing duplicate event files or loosing links to media etc?
(I'm probably being dumb about this but I've always struggled with this concept!)
That is a very useful article. thanks. without wanting to hijack this thread please allow me a another question.
Currently I have four HD's, each with a project+event folder pair. I want to move everything to my new big RAID5 storage. Then I want to retire those four HD's to a shelf and treat them as an archive/backup. (accepting the fact we have no idea how long the drives will survive!).
Can I simply drag the contents of the event/project folders from each of my four HD's to the event/project folders on my new RAID and expect everything to be good when I begin to work from my new RAID?
Some projects may have used clips from more than one event on different HD's.

This is where the hang up will come. If the projects and events are on the same drive it wouldn't be a problem, because the events are on different drives, the filepaths will change and the application will get lost.
The best way is to do it inside FCP. Duplicate the projects and referenced events inside the application. That will create new project and event IDs and make links to the new locations.
