Final Cut and an SSD upgrade

So I upgraded my 17'MBP with a Vector, i have my /home on the HDD, and the OS and apps on the SSD. I would like to configure apps which would really benefit from the SSD like final cut to use the / as scratch. How can I set this up?

MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Some applications, like Ableton Live, have this option in their Preferences. For others, you'll have to find out for yourself which folders they tend to use for temporary items, and use symlinks to move the destination folder to the SSD.
