wont hold charge

I have a 7th generation nano which is 5 months old. In the last month, it stopped holding a charge. If fully charged, I can use it for 8+ hours. However, it will not shut down and by the next morning, it is completely out of charge. I see that many people have had this same issue. Has anyone been able to solve.
