problem with opening numbers

Have found that I cannot open my number by double clicking on the file, an error message appears, saying....

The application "Numbers" can't be opened.

-600

I have restored from a TimeMachine Back up and still no joy.

It is possible to obtain a preview vai the 'space' bar and it will open if I open it through the Numbers app.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Please.

The iWork apps don't do well being moved from one disk to another, whether that is a Time Machine back up or another Mac. It is always best to install again from the original source & it is best to start by removing what you've already installed or copied. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. The easiest way to fix the problem is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript that removes the files. I have put a copy on my Box.com account in the iWork folder. Download uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button.
