Audio/Mic Splitter

Bought Razer Audio/Mic Splitter Adapter. Tried to use it together with Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic on PC. And as a result, together with the voice recorded extraneous noise in the form of a squeak.

Does this mean that EarPods cannot be used with any of the splitter?
