can a macbook pro be used as a mini hub to allow a wifi only ipad to access wired network

my daugther has gone to uni today and we were advised there was wifi in the dorm so we bought her a wifi only ipad. Problem is there is only a wired network. Question is, can we set the macbook pro (wired to network) as a way of getting access to the net through bluetoothing them together?

Of course. Use Internet Sharing to do that.

Open System Preferences > Sharing, and select "Internet Sharing" in the sidebar. Then, make sure you choose "Ethernet" next to "Share your connection from", and below it, mark "Wi-Fi". Finally, mark "Internet Sharing" in the System Preferences sidebar.

On your daughter's iPad, open Settings > Wi-Fi, and choose your MacBook. Your computer must be turned on in order to access to Internet from her device
