"Difficulty downloading episodes from your feed" error

Getting the error "difficulty downloading episodes from your feed" when I try to post my podcast feed on iTunes.

The feed URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/GoFireYourself

Read many of the other posts for people with the same problem and still couldn't figure out how to troubleshoot it.

Do you know what I can do to fix this?

Thanks so much,

Laurel

Only one of your episodes has an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of a playable file, but this shows perfectly well and downloads when subscribing manually in iTunes so there seems to be no reason for this complaint.

We have occasionally seen cases where the server would respond to requests from the iTunes application but not from the iTunes Store, though no explanation has ever been offered. You could try asking the people running your server if they have any logs which show what happened, or have any ideas about this, though I have no evidence that this is actually the problem. The file seems to be perfectly OK, and the server does support the reauired 'byte range requests', so that's not the problem.

Otherwise I can't offer any solution, except to leave it a day or so and try again in case it's just a glitch in the Store.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm not sure what the problem is either. I tried it again today without any luck (see screenshot below). I've submitted another feed from the same server in the past without any trouble, but I could contact my server host anyway.

Do you think it would help if I had more than 1 episode that had an enclosure tag?

Is there any other way to submit a podcast to iTunes? When you say it might work on the iTunes application and not the store, what do you mean?

If you have any other thoughts, please let me know. Thank you in advance!!!

There is an alternative URL:

https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast

but I wouldn't expect it to be any different, though you could try. Having only one episode with a media file shouldn't be a problem unless the Store is thrown by the fact that that isn't the top episode - I'm not aware of there being an issue about that, I would expect it to read the episodes until it finds a media file, but you never know. It's not an awfully good idea to mix episodes with and without media files anyway. You could try removing the first three episodes; or it would be better to produce a separate feed which contains only those episodes with playable media.
