Mac Pro doesn't start up?
I'm only able to use it once a day. When I try turning it on, it starts but the fan doesn't, so then it just shuts off. Help?

The monitor doesn't even turn on, I just hear a click when I turn on the power button. When I click that power button, it makes a little clicking sound that indicates the start up, but it does not. instead it just shuts off immediately. there is nothing on the screen/monitor. any other ideas?
which mac pro? what type of memory? graphic card?
open the side door - any red lights on?
reset SMC - unplug everything. power and kb/mouse etc then hit power button for 10 seconds only. wait 60 seconds and reconnect kb/mouse, power and monitor.
you could hve bad ram or gpu
could have dust and if you don't have ups you better have excellent power and never see an outage or dip/brown out - hard to do sometimes in heat of summer and power demands
oops didn't mean to click that, but this smc thing didn't work.. i don't know if I'm doing it right or not. I believe it's iMac pro 2008? I got it for a gift so not entirely sure.. the little light on the power button doesn't even show up anymore..
