My friend was given an iPad by her daughter. To be helpful, her daughter used it first to set it for the mother with her own id. Now the mother is trying to use her own id. Sometimes the iPad wants her id and other times, it requires the daughter's. How can I help the mom to get rid of the daughter's id?
Go into the Settings and check these four menus:
iCloud
Messages
Facetime
iTunes and App Stores
Make sure that each of these pages shows the correct Apple ID that you wish to use, and not the old one. If it doesn't show the Apple ID you want, tap on the ID to log out and then log in with your new one.
You need to sign out of that ID and delete all iTunes Store content associated with it.
