My wire is not fire wire yet it won't charge and when I plug it in the icon at top right always reads unplugged when I plug it in and it always reports the battery is half or more but when I use it it dies almost instantaneously so what the heck I even ha

d it repaired by apple and it still has this problem

Also I realized to late that my subject was my question lol

Not Charge

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
