Q: Network issue with iphone4 - Using Vodafone service in India

I have serious trouble with network on my iphone4 since i got it recently. - I am in India and using Vodafone service . Tried everything possible but it just doesnt help. Service provier is very clear that it is issue with my handset. Anybody has any clue to help?

 

I tried resetting everything, changed my SIM twice but it doesnt work.

 

Any help friends?

    Just to confirm you are having trouble with connecting to 3G?. Or are you unable to use any feature that is done through your carrier? e.g. 3G, SMS, MMS, Calls etc.

    Thanks for your prompt reply. 3G works fine, i am able to use Whatsapp and Browser without any issues. It is only issue with receiving and making calls. I restarted my phone 4 times since morning to make a call. Even the call forwarding doesnt get setup.

    Ok but what about SMS or MMS?

     

    Also you may need to try the steps here: iPhone Call and Connection Assistant

     

    Apart from that you could back up the iPhone then restore to factory settings and set the iPhone up as new to confirm a software or hardware issue.

     

    Also do you have a friend or family memeber in the same area as you having the same issue on the same carrier?

    The issue is with Calls and SMS both. I just changed from HTC handset to iphone 1 month back (Which i think i am regretting now).  I have already restored the factory settings twice.

     

    My friends do have the same carrier but a different handset and do not have any such issues on network.

    When you restored the iPhone did you set it up as new with no data on it and test the issue?

     

    If you have then I think it would be best to take the iPhone to a service provider or Apple Store to be evalu.ated. Other then that you can check again with your carrier.

    Sure thanks for your efforts in trying to give me the solution.

    I went through other threads on the same lines related to Vodafone and found that it is issue with the service provider itself. I will have to change my service provider, which I will do this week.
