Canon HF M500 footage should be 23.98 but says it's 29.97.
I've already brought the footage in via the log and transfer function and created Pro Res files. The camera setting was 24p but it comes in as 29.97. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I think that if you will be able to remove pulldown after you do the log and transfer using compressor (or perhaps within fcp). haven't done it with this camera, and hopefully Meg the Dog or someone else will pipe up with an authoritative answer.
Hi Michael,
If there's a way to get it to a correct 24 fps mode that would be wonderful. Any way to get Meg to chime in?
you can remove pulldown in compressor if the material is true 24p and if the pulldown is in a standard "cadence."
Duplicate the appropriate preset and in the encoder panel in video settings change the frame rate to 23.976 fps. You have to do this manually, as for some reason or other, 24p is not on the list of available frame rates.
In the frame controls panel, enable the frame controls and in Output Fields, set it to progressive
and in Deinterlace set it to reverse telecine.
Rate conversion should be set to 100% of source.
I don't think there are any issues with the quality settings, but can't hurt to set them to best.
You can just process a short test in compressor by setting an in and out in the preview window.
You'll need to step through the exported quikctime to make sure each frame is discrete.
If you're not familiar with compressor and need further help, let me know.
Good Luck

Michael,
That would be incredibly helpful. I'll find a clip that works and email you off-line next week. Thank you!!!!
