Aug 27, 2013 3:11 AM in response to PigsIncorporatedby Shawn Grinter 2,Welcome,
I've just checked on my SAN and I can see the music files (all .mp3 files) via my Windows XP system, so might be something funny in 7!
Sorry not much help but at least you know it's possible :-)
Regards,
Shawn

Aug 27, 2013 3:35 AM in response to PigsIncorporatedby LaPastenague,iTunes stores the music in a library..

Accessing files in libraries especially covered by digital rights is something Apple specialises in making obscure.

Aug 27, 2013 3:41 AM in response to LaPastenagueby Shawn Grinter 2,I think that is partially correct - the iTunes metadata is in an XML file which is one big lump, but the actual music files are in a directory structure with the actual songs being individual files.
Regards,
Shawn
P.S. This may be better placed in the iTunes forum.....

Aug 27, 2013 3:57 AM in response to Shawn Grinter 2by PigsIncorporated,These are songs I previously bought from iTunes but connected the HDD using USB before I bought the Airport. It's the actual song files I can't see in Win Explorer or Mac Finder but iTunes can see them fine. It's odd.
