A quick fix you might attempt would be making visible, then clicking, the 'Detect Displays' button in the Displays pane of System Preferences. It can be made visible by holding the Option key once you've brought up the Displays pane (it will appear at the bottom right near the question mark).

Unfortunately after spending over an hour working on this I still am not having any luck. I will probably go to the nearest Best Buy tomorrow to try to figure out the problem. Thank you for your input.

May 6, 2015 1:04 PM in response to TT31by Bluesmessiah,I am having the EXACT same issue - 2012 Macbook Pro, newest OS, Rocketfish adapter with Samsung TV. The Macbook identifies the tv, but the tv says no input. Did you ever get it figured out?
