Purchasing a different version quality of the same song

I've purchased an enhanced version of Hero by Enrique Eglesias rather than the original. I require the original version as released in 2001 as I'm using this to analyse the loudness for a university project and it appears as though the enhanced version is louder. I've deleted the enhanced song but still can't purchase the original, any idea of a way around this?

I could perhaps gift the song to someone but I'm not sure if this would then allow me to use it and if it did would simply revert to the enhanced version anyway?

It doesn't appear to be in the US iTunes Store - the only "Hero-EP" I find is by Mariah Carey and the only Hero by Enrique are from the Escape and Greatest Hits album.

But anyway, if the track shows as downloaded, then the iTunes Store apparently thinks it's the same track as the more recent version. You can try removing all instances of that track from your iTunes library - copy the track file elsewhere, of course - and then see if it will allow you to redownload the track, but I have no idea what you'll get since I can't see what you see.

Regards.
