AppleTV (3rd Gen) not recognizing iTunes library

I have turned on Home Sharing under the same Apple ID in iTunes 11.0.5.5 and on the Apple TV, they're both connected to the only wireless network available, and still the library is not recognized on the Apple TV. What am I doing wrong here? All updates have been installed everywhere.

I'm using a Dell PC with Windows 7.

Thanks in advance!

Everything is updated entirely. I am using the same Apple ID on the same WIFI network. Home Sharing is on on both iTunes and the AppleTV, and iTunes is open. The AppleTV works for every other function. It does not recognize my computer for some reason. Once it did, after leaving both alone for a couple hours. Now it no longer does. There's no way it was designed to be this fickle.

I have looked at all of the troubleshooting pages. It's Home Sharing that's not working. I can AirPlay my iTunes library from my computer on the AppleTV. I just can't pull up my library on the AppleTV.

Any other suggestions?

Even when I connect my phone to iTunes, iTunes doesn't recognize that I'm trying to enter a code. I've tried everything i can think of ... and I'm wired directly to the computer. THere's not a single reason why it shouldn't be working, yet here I am, stuck not using my phone or iPad to control anything. I'm getting very, very disgruntled with this crap.

Well I have played and played and played with everything all day and nothing works. I think it's definitely Itune and not the Apple TV because all my other devices are able to see it but Itunes doesn't. And this problem happened sometime in the middle of the night because when I looked at Itunes this morning there was an error message to the effect that Itunes stopped working and when I restarted the program the Apple TV was gone on it. So no sharing. The Ipod and Ipad both are able to see the Apple TV. I am using Windows & 64 bit and have the latest version. Something broke when it updated to this new version 11.1.0.126 because this wasn't an issue until today and nothing changed that I know, all the devices were plugged in and operating when I went to bed.

And I tried following the Apple instruction sheet above several time and she's still broken. Now perhaps Windows did an update during the night and that did something but I am just pulling at straws. Anyone got this figured out let me know. I happen to think that it's Itunes that got broken somehow but Sharing has always been wonky and continues to be wonky. Quite frankly I can't figure out how this issue can reoccur with regularity over the last few years without a definite fix.

I'm having the same problem. Using windows 7 64 bit. All of my devices see the AppleTV as well as my airplay enabled receiver. I had updated to the latest version of iTunes a couple weeks ago, but it didn't stop working immediately. It stopped working out of nowhere last night. Try uninstalling iTunes and everything else that had been explained in some other threads I found in the Apple support forums. Still not fixed.
