Aug 27, 2013 6:32 PM in response to KAThlene2131by Matt Clifton,★HelpfulWhat's your ultimate goal here? Do you just want a playable copy of the DVD sitting on your Mac, so you can remove the actual DVD and still play the movie at a later date?
If that's the case, you can create a copy in Disk Utility.
If you want to actually rip the DVD into a movie which you can perhaps edit or include in another project, you need to use Handbrake.

Aug 27, 2013 9:13 PM in response to Matt Cliftonby KAThlene2131,Hi Matt,
The DIsk Utility helped me, not exactly as you said, but close enough that it allowed me to copy onto another disk.
I am still wanting to be able to copy the DVD to the computer MAC harddrive. I did a copy but it only copied the file with no content. I also have the original on a DVD +R and copied it onto a DVD - R

Aug 27, 2013 9:46 PM in response to KAThlene2131by Malcolm J. Rayfield,When you copied the DVD with Disk Utility it created a disk image file on the computer. Double-click that file to open it, then run DVD Player (Applications folder). It should start playing. If not, click "Open DVD Media" in its "File" menu and select the VIDEO_TS folder in the disk image file.
