thanks already tried the basics like going to google and also downloaded Calibre but it would not let me unlock the DRM. Many have had this problem. Not sure what next step should be

Nobody in these forums is going provide you instructions for that.

To read Kindle books with DRM on an iOS device you just download the free Kindle app.
