imac FOR COUNTER STRIKE SOURCE ONLINE

hey all, im fairly new with mac but am considering buying an imac. When i heard the boot camp news i was really intrigued.

i was wondering if the imac can run CS source on high settings, which one of the optinns below i should buy, and what experience you have with CS:S on a mac (if you have any) are.

condsidering buying: will go for top model but preffer lower one if possible...

option1 :
17" imac
1.83 ghz processor.
1gb ram.
128 mb video card

or option 2:
20" imac
2. ghz processor
1gb ram
256 mb video card

I ran CS:Source the other day and it runs extremely well on my machine. I'm not 100% sure I maxed out all the settings, as it defaults to the "best for your machine", I took a glance and they seemed to be pretty good. Although, I did up the resolution to 1680x1050, which is native for the 20".

thanks, although i hear that the resoultion you have it on does tend to lag it up. Is it really possible to run CS:S on highest settings with an imac? the x1600 isn't really top of the line. also what frame rates are u achieving?

also just to add...

is the game playable online, i've seen videos of half life running on imac but havn't seen a counterstrike video much less a counterstrike video online.

I was playing source on just the other day, although having a brand new iMac still doesn't make up for my suckiness at CS:S 😝

It plays great online (I was using the wireless connection too)

hmm, i and probably a hundren thousand other people are dieing to know the performance of Counterstrike on a imac. i would love personally to know what settings and what performance someone is getting on a 20" model with 256 Vram and 1GB RAM. my most important question is how much AA and AF one can use at high settings without lag and how much FPS ure getting. LETS GET SOME IMAGE AND VIDEO PROOF OF THIS, WE'RE DIEING!
