Please help.

I have had to have a new desk top computer and I therefore lost my ITunes and my music library. I have downloaded Itunes to the new one but whilst my IPhone says that it backs up and syncs with the new computer, I have no music in my (computer)  library. ITunes sees the music on the phone OK but won't transfer it to my library.

This feels vulnerable, so how do I transfer the music across from the phone?

The iTunes content sync is one-way: Computer to Phone. For purchased iTunes content: your phone connected, iTunes running, make sure your computer is authorized: Store>Authorize this Computer, then right-click the phone in the left device pane & select "Transfer Purchases". If you have non-iTunes purchased music, on your phone, you'll have to use third-party software to extract it from your phone:
