Q: Copy  Disc Of Pictures

This may seem a mundade action but as a relative novice with Apple Mac am unable to make a copy of a disc containing pictures.  Please will somebody run me through it?

Thank you very much for the prompt reply and useful pointers.  However, despite that I can't get it to work.  I can get as far as Application/Utilities and have named, found and highlighted my new disc but can't get to the point of 'Image and New Image from Device'.  My Mac is OSX 10.8.4 so it should work.

    To create an image file, launch Disk Utility and select File: New: Disk Image From Folder. In the window that appears, navigate to the desired folder and then click on Image. Give the image file a name, and click on Save when prompted. That’s it.

    Further to my last it is now working fine.  I found the 'new image' option and from then it was pretty plain sailing. It seems a lot more complicated than Windows but will practise it a few times (I had a lot of back and forth) and sure it will be done much faster in future.
