Problems by loading collada files into 3D widgets

Hey there,

I do have some problems loading collada files into my iBooks document. I tried to load different files (from cube to complex models) several times but either iBooks Author crashes or he says:

"Die 3D-Datei „Final_Zu.dae“ wurde nicht hinzugefügt, da die Medien der Datei nicht zusammengefasst werden konnten."

which means:

"The 3D-file "Final_Zu.dae" was not added, because the media of this file couldn't be combined/bundled"

Can anyone help please? I'm really frustrated that it doesn't work at all.

Hi K T,

thanks, but I've read this before. In my opinion the cube should work. It has definitely less than 20,000 polygons.

I have some lighting in my scene. The cube doesn't have any texture. There is a camera in my scene. And I exported it as a COLLADA-file.

So everything should be well. But why isn't it working?

With which product (version) on which OS (version)?

If you believe that file is compatible, you may need to contact Apple/iBA Support to see if they can help you.

Maybe I missunderstood your question about the version plug-in. I meant the version of iBooks Author.

Where can I contact the Apple iBooks Author Support? Didn't find any other possibility than this community.

How did you generate that 3d file? What application and which version Collada plug-in does it use?
