Oct 8, 2014 2:17 PM in response to AverageJ03by Gary K.,I just ordered iTunes Match and discovered that out of some 20,000 songs, only five were problems. These songs were stuck in a state called "Waiting" continuously. I tried removing them from my library and re-ripping them, renaming song, renaming artist, changing genre, etc.--anything to sort of shake things up. Nothing worked. Two of the files were mp3's and three of them were mp4a's. Two were bonus tracks from an album. The other three were audio I had extracted from video files. Lots of different sources and scenarios.
Eventually I decided to open them in an app called Fission. This app works on files losslessly which I like. For a file, I selected all of the content and then had Fission "Save" just the content with a name of my choosing and added it to iTunes. This worked. So I tried it for all the files and it worked for them as well. They were uploaded to iCloud and status was listed as such. I decided to try saving the files in whole rather than just the content. This worked for one file but failed for all the others. So my conclusion is that there must be something about the metadata that iTunes Match did not like. Hope this helps others who may be having this problem. I have not seen this solution listed anywhere I have searched so I posted it here.
