Will work 2gb ram from my mac mini? (1600 ddr3)

Hi everyone.

The question it's this one:

Will work 2gb ram from my mac mini (late 2012) on my imac 27, (late 2012)?

It's 1600 ddr3 so i guess it should. I know that the article on the support page says that only 4gb, and 8 gb are allowed, but it feels strange not accept less than that!

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), imac, Late 2012, Mac mini Late 2012

If the memory is PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM then it should work in the iMac. Check the memory via the System Information under the  menu.
