Apple ID Scam?

I received this email this morning. I believe it to be a scam. But how is it sent from an apple.com email address?

Date: 28 August, 2013 11:21:11 AM EDT
To:my email address .com
Subject: Warning! your apple ID has been frozen temporarily

Hello,
We have noticed that you tried to login to your account from a restricted country Thats why our security system froze your account, we apologize for any inconvenience but you have to verify your identity by updating your information,
Please click on the following link to update your information: update Now >.
This is an automated message. Please do not reply to this email. If you need additional help, visit Apple Support.

It may look like it came from apple.com, but that doesn't mean that it did so (it just makes it look more genuine) - the 'update now' link would probably have taken you taken to a non-Apple site for you to type in your id and password.

You could forward the email to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com

I received it too. The Update Now Link takes you to http://bestguidesonyoga.com/404.html then it goes to apple's change password site. I wouldn't trust it.

It is completely a scam. They're trying to get you to give them your Apple ID and password. Apple does not freeze accounts, and emails from them will use much better grammar and punctuation.

Do not respond to the message; forward it to Apple's phishing address as the Penguin advised.
