A more throough explanation.

Macintosh HD refers to the default name of your iMac's internal hard drive.

If you have an icon of a hard drive sitting on your iMac's OS X desktop, unless you changed the default name of the hard drive, it is usually, by default Macintosh HD.

You can double click on this icon with your mouse to open the hard drive icon and a window appears.

If it is the standard OS X window, to the left should be a column of default folders to choose from..

One of these should be Applications.

You can single click on the name Applications to open the folder in the same window or double click the name Applications to open that folder in a separate window.

Once the Applications folder is open, you can scroll down until you find another folder called Utilities.

Double click to open the Utilities folder.

Doing all of this this way will show you where these and other various folders reside.
