Transfering from old laptop

Hi,

I am really not great with computers and thought maybe this file migration thingy was too good to be true.
Can someone please tell me, will this transfer all my photos, videos and files (word, adobe etc) from my old acer laptop over to my new mac?

or do i need to put my files on a hard driver or disc and then transfer them over?

with my videos, they are from my video camera - does anyone know where they would end up on the mac? there is some really important vidoes on there that i do not want to loose.

Oh also all our music etc from itunes too

And yes, any one of the processes described will transfer everything from the pc to the Mac.

The transfer is a copy. The originals will remain intact on the pc. Therefore there is no danger of losing anything by transfering. Worst case scenario is the transfer does not start or complete. In either case the originals are still where they always were.
