Changed Icons Only Show Preview Icon

Hey Guys,

I am having trouble changing my icons. I know how to change icons:

Click the volume, application, folder, or file whose icon you want to paste onto another item.

From the File menu, choose Get Info or press Command-I to open the Get Info window.

Click the icon in the upper-left corner of the Get Info window to select it.

From the Edit menu, choose Copy or press Command-C.

Select the volume, application, folder, or file whose icon you want to replace.

From the File menu, choose Get Info or press Command-I.

Click the icon in the upper-left corner.

From the Edit menu, choose Paste or press Command-V to replace the icon.

However, when I paste the actual icon does not show. Instead, an icon that is exactly like the preview icon shows up. Like this:

User uploaded file How do I get it to show the actual icon instead of this?

Is there suppose to be a picture? Cause it is not showing up.

To do so, highlight the icon……..

Hold down the Option Key……

Go to File>Show Inspector……

In the existing window, click the existing icon, and then choose Edit>Copy

Next, click the icon to which you want to transfer the copied icon. Its icon now appears in the Info dialog box that’s still open on the screen.

Click the icon in the dialog box, and this time choose Edit>Paste.

Viola!!!!! You now have a new icon.

Just noticed you have Lion - OS X Lion: Change the icon of a file or folder
