systemwide loss of MIDI after using Disk Warrior

Using LE 9.8.1. Kontakt 4 and 5, and Absynth 4 and 5 are the main apps I use that are MIDI dependent. At first I thought it was just the Native Instrument apps that were affected but all the synths in LE are gone also. I have repaired permissions, redownloaded my MIDI drver for the MOTU 128 Express and reinstalled that. The Aplle Audio/MIDI pane from System Settings, been through that. The MOTU Express icon looks dimmed but I can't be sure. I can play notes on the virtual keyboards that are on the NI apps, but I can't play anything on my Korg lkeyboard and hear anything. Really stumped. I feel like I'm close to a solution, but I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?
