battery charging problem with ipod shuffle

It sounds like your iPod is not charging correctly and the lights are unexpectedly blinking when plugged into the computer.
From what I am seeing, blinking orange lights usually indicate that the iTunes is currently syncing the device or the iPod is in disk mode.

If this is not your model iPod Shuffle, there are other generations toward the bottom of the article so you can see what the blinking orange lights mean for your model.
If you need to troubleshoot the iPod Shuffle, I would use the iPod 5rs troubleshooting assistant for your model.
